It all happened in spring of 2017, when Andy Feelin was in Batumi. There he was walking near the sea and noticed a small old lighthouse among all the modern fancy looking buildings. Andy said, that this lighthouse seemed to be very lonely and so he spent some time near to her every walk, just to make her feel less lonely.
Later he wrote me and told a story about that lighthouse and another one about a girl who cared deeply about the old abandoned lighthouse and when she was dying she asked her family to build a house near that lighthouse. The story was part of “To the Moon” which I wasn’t aware of at that time, but it touched me deeply and next day I sent him a first demo of the song. Of course, being unaware about original sources, I used my fantasy and imagination a lot, so in the end it turned out to be very “my” thing.
But then we faced some difficulties. The song should’ve been in French, I knew it, so at the time of working on Paper Boats I was very creepy towards every native French speaker I happened to meet in the way “please teach me how to French” (and I’m deeply sorry for that ^^’). Turns out, I was too creepy and we were short on time, so I pushed myself to release this song “as is” with the intention to improve it later. In the end lyrics were translated by Lisa Hvors and then I used lots of help and corrections from Jyc Row, Koron Korak and Daniel Legrand (who also fixed my pronunciation).
And finally, to my great pleasure, the improved version was released on P@D album “Echoes”.
